Paris and Rome might be well-known for romance, but if you’re talking “wild and crazy romance”, you’re talking New Orleans – it must be something about the heat and humidity, the aroma of spicy food and the sound of music coming out of every doorway, and perhaps the lack of an “open container” law. Almost anything seems like a reasonable thing to do! It’s where we got married on a whim, waiting our turn before a judge at City Hall, sitting outside his office on a bench surrounded by guys in orange jump-suits and leg irons, an event so unplanned the judge’s secretary had to sign fake signatures in the absence of witnesses. Unceremonious perhaps, but it seems to have “taken”, and we return to New Orleans every year to celebrate Valentine’s Day. We are happy to bring a little bit of the French Quarter to our Sweet Shop customers. – Pam & Rusty

The Muffaletta was invented at the Central Grocery store in the French Quarter over a century ago and is still a local favorite. We fill our own Muffaletta bread with homemade olive salad and pile on cappicola ham, genoa salami, mortadella and provolone cheese.  Equally traditional is the Po’ Boy sandwich which can be filled with anything from fried oysters to roast beef and gravy.  Ours is stuffed with a cold crawfish and shrimp salad.  We use authentic andouille sausage to spice our Chicken & Sausage Gumbo, and give it a nutty smoked flavor with a dark roux. Everyone saves room for New Orleans’ desserts, ranging from the melt-in-your-mouth Pecan Praline to the colorful King Cake decorated in the Mardi Gras colors of gold (power), green (faith) and purple (justice). Salted Pecan Caramel Cheesecake blends toasted pecans with thick ribbons of caramel in creamy cheesecake for a sweet-salty combination that is hard to beat, and nothing is more southern than Red Velvet Cake, made with cocoa and buttermilk and topped with our light cream cheese icing.


All of our specials are subject to availability so we recommend you place orders 2-3 days in advance. Orders must be placed in advance for personalized items. For cancellations and rescheduling because of weather, etc., we ask that you notify us as early as possible, preferably 24 hours.
